Our story started 4 years ago
My husband was planning to open a coffee shop while we were living in San Diego. At the same time, I was pregnant and couldn’t stop craving thick New York–style cookies.
Somewhere along the way, the two ideas came together: great coffee and an unforgettable cookie.
Before we could open, my husband received a career opportunity in Michigan, and we moved.
As we explored cafés across the state, we kept noticing the same thing: amazing coffee, thoughtful spaces, but cookies that were often flat and ordinary.
We considered opening our own café in Michigan. Then we realized something.
Michigan didn’t need another great coffee shop. Great coffee shops needed a better cookie.
So instead of opening one café, we created OVIO to give great coffee the cookie it deserves.
