Our story started 4 years ago
My husband was planning to open a coffee shop while we were living in San Diego. At the same time, I was pregnant and couldn’t stop craving thick New York–style cookies.
Somewhere along the way, the two ideas came together: great coffee and an unforgettable cookie.
Before we could open, my husband received a career opportunity in Michigan, and we moved.
As we explored cafés across the state, we kept noticing the same thing: amazing coffee, thoughtful spaces, but cookies that were often flat and ordinary.
We considered opening our own café in Michigan. Then we realized something bigger : most major cities didn’t need another great coffee shop. Great coffee shops needed a better cookie.
So instead of opening one café, we created OVIO to give great coffee the cookie it deserves.
